The special trophies go to the category winners with the highest scores (amount of points).

AWC VIENNA TROPHIES 2022

The award for the best wine of each tasting category.

At the master tasting, which is a commissional, parallel blind tasting, the wines will be ranked from 1. to 6. The primary-ranked wine of each tasting category achieves the “awc wine trophy”.

Stars Winery

For the ***stars valuation of wineries, the points of the six highest rated wines of a winery will be added up.

    • Stars Winery: more than 546 total points
    • Stars Winery: more than 537 total points
  • Stars Winery: more than 528 total points

The achievement of at least one star is also a required condition for participating at awc vienna special awards 2022.

Pre-condition for participating in the evaluation for the awc vienna special awards is at least one star at awc vienna 2022 (Min. 528 points total result). For the calculation of the special awards at most 3 wines per submission category will be considered.

BEST NATIONAL PRODUCER OF THE YEAR 2022

The special award of awc vienna 2022 for the best wine-producer of a country.
The points of the 6 maximum rated wines of a producer will be added.

BEST ORGANIC WINE-PRODUCER OF THE YEAR 2022

The special award of awc vienna 2022 for the best organic wine-producer.
The points of the 6 maximum rated wines of an organic wine producer will be added.

BEST RETAILER OF THE YEAR 2022

The special award of awc vienna 2022 for the best retailer/importer.
The points of the 6 maximum rated wines of 3 different wine-producers which were submitted by this retailer will be added.

Medals

Medals (bottle stickers) of awc vienna are officially approved by the EU for publishing the achieved wine awards and are allowed to be applied on wine bottles.

87 to 89.9 points silver medal
84 to 86.9 points seal of approval
